I’m looking for suits which can be worn to interviews in summer (90’s to 100’s the past two weeks). I have had a hard time finding a conservative, navy misses suit in tropical wool with at least 2 buttons.

I have several other suits–polyester with polyester lining–by designers mentioned, but they just make me sweat in temperatures over 60. Not a good feel for an interview! Washable, yes; breatheable, no.
Some natural fabric suits I have found still have synthetic linings in them. Even a cotton blend pantsuit from 9 West has a synthetic lining in it.

Do natural fabric suits require linings?
If not, how is tropical wool against somewhat sensitive skin?
I can sew somewhat, and am about to order tropical wool fabric to try to make myself a suit. That should be interesting!

Anna – you are right about knowing what to look for at thrift/consignment stores. I’ve found Banana Republic and JCrew trousers at my local Goodwill, good as new for under $10 each! Eye is key, as you mention – I find in second hand stores my “eye” gets lazy after a while, usually because there is so much not so great fashion there, that when something looks good, I think it looks really good… I also like to bring a good piece along with me (such as a classic pencil skirt) when I am looking for something, to see if what I am trying on works with my wardrobe and still looks as good with professional clothes.
