I find that blazers are an easy way to dress up your look, especially if you’re wearing jeans. If you are wearing jeans, make sure they are neat and polished (no tears, rips, fraying, too distressed, etc.) and that your shoes are equally as impeccable. For business casual pants, Banana Republic has always been a good resource for me (also with big butt here). Skirts and dresses are also always an option, especially A-line.

I work in an extremely casual office where maxi skirts and dresses are allowed, and I cannot stand them. Jeans can be tailored and well-fitting. You can dress them up a lot with a crisp button down, a nice sweater, or a blazer. In my opinion, maxi skirts always look too casual and like they belong on a beach. They look silly with any kind of top other than a tee shirt, which further lends to their beach-lounging vibe.

to be honest though, I usually wear this “George Men’s Premium Pleat Front Khaki Pants” with a golf polo.

I had the same problem but I found Target has a pretty thick black ankle pant (I think the brand is Merona or Mossimo, it’s by the materiny section but not maternity.) that definetely would work in any situation where jeans are appropriate. Lot of colors, but the black is a really easy item to wear.

I wear jeans to work every day (engineer) but really think maxis are different. I can’t quite put my finger on why though. We’re a pretty male dominated industry and its rare to see skirts at all. I’ve only seen a maxi dress on a summer intern.

My problem is that most business casual pants with stretch look really sexy on me. I have wide hips and a giant butt and while looser fitting clothing makes me look horribly matronly, many business casual pants with stretch feel way more revealing than jeans. Thicker fabrics help but are harder and harder to find. I end up wearing jeans because I can, but sometimes I want to look a bit more polished. Does anybody else have this problem? I know a lot of women with big busts have similar issues with tops.
